SCRIPTURE:
And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms and gave up the ghost.
MESSAGE.
King Herod is one of the great personalities in Jerusalem, made a king by Roman empire to maintain peace and order in the land of Israel and its environs.
I saw a piece of particular researcher that went deeper to dug out the wrong of the king who desire to reign forever. This is the man that will do anything to any man that he spotted him to be more influential to his personality. He hates seeing someone better than him, he will make sure such go down for him to retain his lordship on the throne.
A very terrible king with desire of idolatry and adulterous, he have ten wives, he killed one of his ten wives with his own children born by her together with the family of the woman, what a terrible man.
“And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people”, (Acts 12:4), he dislike the truth which is the foundation of his hatred against the Christian and their act around him.
God doesn’t want anybody to be destroy which is why he’s giving a day-to-day warning and guidance to all not to fall on the sword of the Lord anger. God want to preserve the life of the king, but he made himself available for evil consistently against himself and the people he is governing.
John, the Baptist confronted the king on so many occasions most especially when he has a direct instruction of God to do so, he confronted him of using hot iron principle of leadership against the nation and the most announced of his confrontation is the wife of his brother he took to wife “For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife”, (Mark 6:18), it is an unlawful thing and such is not expected from your personality.
There is nothing in this world you can do away with regardless of your smartness.
Herodias doesn’t like the confrontation of John the Baptist against the king as regard his adulterous act against the wife of his brother, so she wanted him dead, but the king know he is saying the truth, where is this message pointing you to your consistent foolishness against the Lord determine growth in your life, ministry, business etc.
Checking and rechecking yourself to see whether you are still on track for the will of God is the best check you can daily run on yourself.
You must check yourself when hearing the truth become what you hate, you need to save yourself from the satanic intention that will definitely come thereafter if you fail to change.
Foolishness is act induce into human system help by consistent wrong and uncorrectable error “And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: he went and behead him in the prison”, (Mark 6:27), Herodias achieved her aim of killing John the Baptist through untamed appetite of the king.
Brethren, we are all here on the surface of the earth to be a useful tool in the hand of the Lord not otherwise, you must be extremely careful as regard spiritual damage and her consistent error for the consequences is more terrible to the toast advantage of the devil.
