Ephesians 6:4
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Parenting is actually the act of knowing how to raise your children to be spiritual, physical, morally and emotionally upright. Parents are not just given children to meet their physical need alone, parents are called into the ministry of nurturing sons and daughters in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
Every child is born by someone. Every child needs parent care and guidance. No child should be neglected to grow without paying adequate attention to his all round growth. Parenting is a great task, and It requires a skill in training this children from adolescent to become a better young adults. When parents neglects their duties, they will raise terrible kids without fear of God.
The truth about parent is that God will question the parents. No parent must fail in the nurture and admonition of their children, because they will be questioned by God. God has placed them in your hands as your responsibility to manage, so if you fail your children you failed God. God will not take it likely…
He said I know Abraham....
Genesis 18:19 KJV
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord , to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
God can attest to the integrity in parenting of Abraham…That Abraham will train his Children to walk in the covenant of God. God is expecting every parents to follow the foot steps of Abraham.
What the Parents are?
1. Parents are tutors…
Every father’s are mother’s are the first teacher of their children. Every child love to be thought by those they love, and their parents are their first love. The love between children to their parents cannot be quantified. When they are thought in love, their heart opens up to receive.
2. Parents are leaders
Leaders are influencers, they influence the believe and decision of the child, to know how to lead, and take good decisions. Leaders are also listeners, they teach their children how to learn, listen and observe better. Leaders cast vision, parents plays a big role in helping their children to discover their purpose and pursue it
3. Parents are role models
This is a major role parents plays in the life of their children. Children mostly learn by what they see mjch more than what they hear. Seeing is believing, you can’t convince me to doubt what I see. So, children have strong believe in what they see, because what they see form a strong believe system in their mind, so that is the best example. Model to them how you want their life to be, don’t just say it.
In this stance, parents has to work so much on themselves to be a kind of person that they will like their children to be, Even better. Modeling is a culture, learn the culture. Your children are following your foot steps, thread with wisdom before them. What you sow in them is what you will reap from them.
4. Parent are shield 🛡️
Parents are the first covering and protector of their children after God. We know that God is our defence and our shield, but parents too plays a very strong roll in shielding their children from wolf’s and serpent of life. Shield them from the world, shield them from the wicked, shield them from evil association, shield them from wrong system of society, shield them from wrong people. That is your role as a parents. Many children in the society are exposed to rapist, molesters, oppressors and abusers of their soul, they grow up been wounded emotionally and spiritual, many of them may not regain balance except God heal their broken heart and spirit. Shield them at all cost.
5. Parent are pillars…
Parents are pillars, pillars arw the support system that makes a structure to be strong and stand for life. The most important support system of children are present parents. Parent who are their to cheer them, believe in them, support them and guide them continually.
